Artist's Spotlight: Albert Williams-Original Artist for Masterpiece by Numbers

Albert Williams was a British painter known for his depictions of flower arrangements. He employed a unique process of painting individual fresh flowers picked from his garden, using these studies to compose more elaborate arrangements on larger canvases.

Mr. Williams was notably influenced by Dutch 17th-century flower painters. Born on March 20, 1922 in Sussex, England, Williams learned painting from his father and grandfather and went on to study figure and portrait painting under Louis Ginnett at the Brighton College of Art.

Mr. Williams' art is world renowned and can be found commercially in many forms such as posters, framed art, and even paint by numbers! Masterpiece by Numbers is the only company that currently licenses Mr. Williams' beautiful art in this format, though.

Over the course of his life, Williams exhibited at the Royal Academy, the Royal Watercolor Society, and the Royal Society of British Artists. He painted every day, particularly during the seasons  from Spring to late Autumn. If a picture was not completed during the season of its subject, it would be put aside until the flowers were available the  next year. He painted well into his 80's and was actively involved with the world peace movement and various ecological and environmental organizations. He died in 2010 in Brighton, England.
