I am holding my second stock painting Amsterdam Scene which I have just finished as a present to my daughter . Behind me is my first painting which is from a photograph of us all as a family on holiday . I have 3 more paintings waiting to be done and am totally addicted. Great kits both the stock ones and custom from your own photos . Can’t recommend enough for a great stress reliever .
What a beautiful design with so much detail. I loved working this painting but must admit I made many edits. The colors provided with this painting are so rich and vibrant, and I love the springtime feel of the original so wanted to capture that. I cut back on the oranges and grays, and used more greens and blues. I also used blending in some areas to soften hard lines, and I layered paints in some areas to create moss in the canal and make the lamp lights more realistic. This is my 2nd paint by number. I find these kits to be of high quality, with incredible detail and enough paint to customize a little. I do tend to add 6-8 drops of water to each paint color, and mix thoroughly before using. I find the detail work much easier when the paint is highly spreadable. Coverage with some of the paint colors was weak, but globbing on extra paint makes for more interesting textures
This was very detailed but exactly what I was looking for. I have ordered from other companies and you do NOT get the same quality as Masterpiece. I made some modifications but loved this one.
Firstly I cannot fault the quality of this kit. The canvas, the paints and the printed copy to follow were all of exceptional quality, with very minimal un-numbered areas.
Unfortunately I didn’t enjoy this one, it’s completely personal preference, so don’t let this deter you, but I found the reflection area in the water hard going and the lights just feel a bit messy.
It hasn’t put me off ordering another 6 thou 😂 just love the escapism it provides.
