Mountain Train

I enjoyed painting this, the paints were very creamy & went on very good!

This is my 5th Masterpiece by Numbers painting. In July of 2024 my wife and I went on an Alaska Train vacation with our life long high school band friends. After seeing so many beautiful areas I was inspired to paint this to remember our trip...even adding 724 to the engine. I love adding lots of details and paint colors to these wonderful paintings you all sell to really make them my own. I made the frame from scratch using 15-20 year old fence boards.

I had no idea that there could be so much nuance in creating a plume of smoke and steam. This was fun to work with. By the time my brush reached the train tracks, things became even more exciting and enjoyable. I chose to modify the canvas by trying to bring the painting closer to what I saw in the original, pretty much by enhancing the engineer in the window, the wheels of the engine, and the stone wall and by placing some lettering on the coal tender. I found that colors # 8 and #15 were identical browns and felt they should have been a lot more greenish. I’m assuming there was some blending errors here and I added my own greens to the background greenery. All in all, this was yet another well put-together canvas by MBN and the very talented artist Sung Kim.

I am slowly working on this one! It is my first one. Paint quality is good. I did order extra paint which I am about to crack into. It’s taken me 45 days to get here but I’m a full time working mom with a 2 year old so this my stress relief activity. I’m looking forward to finishing this one for my son’s room and starting my second. Will purchase from this company again .

This was my favorite painting I’ve done.
Sitting in my garage, listening to various podcast and painting this project was a delight. I was so proud of the final outcome, I posted it in my man cave garage.
