Turning For Home by Richard Wheatland - The Supermarine Spitfire is a British single-seat fighter aircraft that was produced in greater numbers than any other British aircraft. It was used throughout the world during WWII and remains the most well known and well loved of all British planes.

The Spitfire was the only British fighter produced continuously throughout the war. Today around 54 Spitfires remain airworthy.

I loved doing this painting! My Uncles were RAF fighter pilots from Ireland and flew the Spitfire in the Battle of Britain in WWII. Their stories of flying this amazing plane were incredible. The kit itself is very good. Very good quality. I did add one thing you don't see in the picture. I added the antenna line from the cockpit to the rear tail wing. It makes it look more realistic. Please add more fighter planes to your collection for us aviation buffs.

Really enjoyed doing this,it’s a Xmas gift present for my spitfire/ aircraft mad grandson, and I feel it’s something personal for him to keep, left him a little message for him on the back too,was quite choked when it was completed ,I would recommend anyone who wants some timeout ,and a hobby, even for the winter months ,to try out,it’s addictive once you start ,and so satisfying when finished.
