Turning For Home by Richard Wheatland - The Supermarine Spitfire is a British single-seat fighter aircraft that was produced in greater numbers than any other British aircraft. It was used throughout the world during WWII and remains the most well known and well loved of all British planes.

The Spitfire was the only British fighter produced continuously throughout the war. Today around 54 Spitfires remain airworthy.

Now you can paint this wonderful painting with this amazing paint by numbers kit.

Each Masterpiece By Numbers kit is produced with care and attention to produce a painting as close to the original artwork as possible.

The New Hobby

From building wood toys to wood burning to now painting, this was fun. I'm working on my 2nd one. This is a good hobby. Taking a short break from my other hobbies this fits right in now.

Got there eventually

Have done loads of number painting very successfully previously but really struggled with this one. Couldn't get the sky right at the top, the colour was not the shade it was in the example picture and didn't blend as I thought it should. However I decided to do my own take and easily painted over with other colours and reasonably acceptable now. Also misread numbers and put red instead of green at one place but was easy to paint over and put that right. My point really is don't worry if you didn't get it right at first it is possible to go back and change or do things your own way.

Spitfire QJ-F

I really enjoyed my first Masterpiece by Numbers.
I was lucky enough to know Group Captain Brian Kingcome (92 Squadron) before he passed away, so I added his markings QJ-F as a tribute.
I’m looking forward to choosing my next painting.
