‘Twas the night before Christmas

I have a gallery wall with your paintings I switch out for each seasons. This painting is going to be a great addition to my collection! Your paintings are always high quality and since I have done at least 40 of your paintings this was a little easier. I have done so many paintings the last few years I have recently ordered a painting I had done previously, lol

‘‘Twas the night

This is a very detailed painting. I used the gesso on this one. Which helps not the paints on this one is so opaque! Just about all of them. So this one certainly tries your patience! I thought maybe it was the gesso which would have made no sense to me. But it is the paint!

In the Christmas Spirit

This was my second MBN painting and it was challenging yet fun. I really like that I was able to add my own extra details to make the painting my own. I did need to buy additional brushes for the tiny spaces and straight lines since the original brushes wore out quickly. I also noticed that not every space had a number (even in the guide) but it was only a few so wasn't an issue. I unfortunately didn't finish my painting before Christmas but still plan to hang it up to enjoy for the next few months. Overall, I am impressed with MBN's quality and variety of paintings. I'm looking forward to my next one!

Twas The Night Before Christmas by Richard MacNeil

Salutations, Just finished Twas The Night Before Christmas by Richard MacNeil - 'When all through the house. Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse'.  I had great fun painting it. I extended it outwards to make larger or to wrap around a frame. So had to build/add a tree topper, chair seat, bricks, portrait/mirror over fireplace, dog on sofa and toy sack. I also added my grandson's name to top of a present. Added 'Jesus Saves' to a Christmas ornament since He is the reason for the season. Added some stuff to the toy house and bear in toy sack to make them easier to see. Straightened a few lines that merged into the background. Made one of the light tree images into an angel. Took over a month to paint. I use a lighted magnifier on worktable to see and it is not until the last week that I ever can tell what is inside the image because I paint 1 to last number leaving white for the very last. Like the dog on the rug...ha ha.. never saw him until the end. Thanks for the entertainment and fun. This was my 11th painting and still have 20 more stacked up to do.... hope the inks hold out or I be mixing lot of ink from hobby lobby 🙂
