Sunflowers by Vincent Van Gogh (1853 - 1890) - Van Gogh’s paintings of Sunflowers are among his most famous. He painted them in Arles, in the south of France, in 1888 and 1889.
Largely self-taught, Van Gogh produced more than 2,000 oil paintings, watercolors, drawings, and sketches, which became in demand only after his death.

This was my first painting I chose to do as Van Gogh is my favourite artist.
I found I cut my painting teeth on this one as I have completed three more since.
I love the colours and the finished result is pretty impressive. I did struggle in the beginning with covering the lines sufficiently (with the light colours). But once I had completed it I went back over the areas I wasn’t happy with until it worked.
It took me a few months to do as I did it as and when I had time, but they are addictive and utterly absorbing, relaxing and very peaceful. It is very easy to lose yourself in the painting in the same way you can lose yourself in a good book.
There is no mixing of colours necessary which is brilliant ( having done several of other types before where that is necessary), there is more than enough paint to complete the picture. If necessary I added a drop of water to stir the paint if it had become thicker, this did not diminish the quality of the paint in any way.
Since this one I have completed Surfing Dolphins, Monet’s Poppy Field and most recently Warmth of Winter. I have another 12 waiting to do, and one day I will have a go at a custom painting too.
Everything you need to complete the painting. It looked complicated but once started I couldn't stop. Sufficient acrylic paint and three brushes. Great result and I enjoyed this so much that I have ordered a customised canvas. Can't wait.
This is my third paint by numbers and I absolutely love it.Really couldn't recommend this company enough, always amazing quality.
Such good quality, I'm really happy I bought this.
